A poignant poem with beautiful and apt verses, here we show a Trinity College Print of same and we have in the Joe Stanley/Gaelic Press papers a handwritten version of same perhaps a printer's copy of the original ? - author unknown at the moment was it the Countess perhaps ?.
It was not unusual for Joe to have handwritten copy as he printed and /or published other people's creations and compositions - like the Pearse Papers, Other handwritten copy would include Heroes & Martyrs and The Battle Hymn both by the Countess.
